New Yoga Class Names & Descriptions
AMERICAN VINYASA – Our standard Vinyasa class taught by an American Yoga certified instructor. Poses are taught in smooth sequences, linking transitions with breath. Moderate pace, with intense moments. Advanced options are offered; proceed at your own pace.
POWER VINYASA – Our standard Vinyasa class kicked up a notch. Faster sequences mean you’ll sweat! Some fitness-style options, like push-ups & core work will be offered throughout the Flow. (This class was formerly called Fit Flow).
SLOW FLOW – Great for everyone, including beginners! Our Slow Flow class is formatted with basic pose sequences and transitions. Longer hold time in each pose & more alignment instruction means you’ll enjoy a deeper perspective. No arm balance poses or inversions. Perfect to tweak your alignment and enjoy a mellow yet active class.
FREE PLAY FLOW; Minimal Instruction – Our free-style class is great for experienced students or those who require minimal direction. The instructor does not TEACH, but offers thoughts, suggestions, and demonstrations. Class pace to self-determined, however, the instructor moves at a moderate-to-advanced pace, with arm balance and inversion options throughout.
VIN-N-YIN BLEND – Great for everyone, including beginners! A perfect combination of active and passive styles of Yoga. If you like to explore dynamic poses, but also crave some deep stretching, this class will satisfy. Basic to moderate pace, with deep Yin Yoga stretches in various order of sequence. Sequence patterns are determined by the instructor; each class is unique.
PURE YIN YOGA – Great for everyone, including beginners! Yin, meaning passive, is a style of Yoga aimed at deep tissue release. Poses are held for up to 2-3 minutes, which allows time for the pose to penetrate not just muscle tissue, but connective tissue. Often, chronic tension accumulates in ligaments, tendons, and fascia. When Yin Yoga poses are processed in the body, a next-level healing effect is possible. Pace is slow and gentle. No flow.
ASSISTED ALIGNMENT & WALL PRACTICE – Great for everyone, including beginners! This class format is designed to help you explore alignment at the wall for support! Hands-on adjustments and assistance means you’ll feel nurtured and well-oriented in each pose. Each class will feature different poses and approaches. Pace is slow to moderate.
